  12. Last summer my Amiga and modem were damaged during an electrical storm.
  13. I got the modem fixed (it was on warranty thank goodness) but my Amiga
  14. is still crippled.  Everything seems to work ok except for the graphics.
  15. Here are some descriptions of what is wrong:

  17.     1) When I resize a window, the edges of the window get
  18.        trashed and leave lots of extra lines around
  19.  
  20.     2) When text is scrollin on the screen, extra dots appear
  21.        or something dots disappear.  This can make reading text
  22.        difficult
  23.  
  24.     3) During hard drive access, the graphics troubles seem to
  25.        increase in the form of flickering screens etc. but the
  26.        hard drives work properly as far as I can tell
  27.  
  28. All of the problems seem to be related to the graphics, which hints
  29. to me that my graphics chip is damaged.  The CPU does not seem to be
  30. the culprit, as I do not get unexpected system errors, and I have
  31. run some benchmarks with no troubles.

  33. Can someone out there help me identify the trouble and recommend
  34. how to fix it?  Perhaps someone has some diagnostic software I
  35. could run?

  37. Also, if this is something I can fix (I have taken the machine apart
  38. several times... once to install 8 megs of ZIPs and a couple of times
  39. to clean the machine and check that all of the chips were seated
  40. properly), can someone direct me to a mail-order store that carries
  41. the part that I need?
